Cookies Policy
WebSpellChecker LLC (“WebSpellChecker”, “we”, or “us”) and our third party service providers, such as our advertising and analytics providers, use cookies and similar technologies to collect information. Certain cookies will only be activated after you provide your explicit consent, as required under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy Directive. More information can be found in our Privacy Policy. This document describes the types of cookies we use, their purposes, and your options for managing consent.
Our cookies
We use cookies to make interactions with our products and website(s) (”Services“) easy and meaningful. We use cookies (and similar technologies, like HTML5 localStorage) to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and provide information for future development of WebSpellChecker.
A cookie is a small data file that our web server stores on your computer or mobile device, which your browser sends to us when you return to our website. Cookies do not necessarily identify you if you are merely visiting WebSpellChecker; however, a cookie may store a unique identifier for each logged in user. The cookies WebSpellChecker sets are essential for the operation of the website, or are used for performance or functionality. By using our website, you agree that we can place these types of cookies on your computer or device.
How do we use them?
- Where strictly necessary. These cookies and other technologies are essential in order to enable websites to provide the feature you have requested, such as remembering you have logged in. These cookies are always active and cannot be opted out.
- For functionality. Cookies are used to remember choices you make such as language or search parameters. We use these cookies to provide you with an experience more appropriate with your selections and to make your use of the Services more tailored. These cookies require your consent before activation.
- For performance. Performance cookies collect anonymous information about how users interact with our Services. These cookies help us understand website performance, identify areas for improvement (such as navigation, speed, and user experience), and optimize our content and Services. These cookies are only set after you provide consent.
- For analytics. These cookies, including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, track user interactions with our Services to generate statistical reports on usage, understand visitor behavior, and improve marketing campaigns. These cookies do not identify you personally and are only set after you provide consent.
- For connection with social media and marketing. Cookies are used to track user activity across sites and enable sharing or advertising personalization. Consent is required before these cookies are set.
How can you opt-out?
Except for strictly necessary cookies, WebSpellChecker will not place cookies or use similar tracking technologies until you have provided your explicit consent through our consent management platform (CMP).
By interacting with the banner, you may:
- Accept all – allows us to activate functionality cookies, performance and analytics cookies (including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity), and marketing/social media cookies.
- Accept only necessary – in which case only strictly necessary cookies will remain active. No other cookies will be set.
- Customize preferences – allows you to select which categories of cookies you consent to, such as performance, analytics, or social media/marketing cookies, while keeping strictly necessary cookies active.
You may withdraw your consent or update your preferences at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
You can opt out of certain types of cookies. To opt out you can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from websites you visit. Many browsers include their own management tools for removing HTML5 local storage objects.
Please note that if you reject or disable certain cookies, some features of our Services may not function as intended. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all aspects of our Services.
You will not be able to opt out of any cookies or other technologies that are “strictly necessary” for the Services.
The legal basis for the use of cookies other than strictly necessary cookies is your consent, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.
Third-party cookies
Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) may also use cookies on our Services.
Third-party cookies will only be set after you provide consent. We pass your consent preferences via a consent management platform (CMP) to these services to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws.
We have little control over these “third party” cookies, so we suggest that you check the respective privacy policies for these external services to help you understand what data these organizations hold about you and what they do with it.
